Alice's 100wc Week #36

The disaster!

It was Easter morning and before the children waddled down the stairs there were little human beings creating a MESS!
The were chocolate eggs everywhere!
BUT…
There was only one egg that the little human beings were fascinated in.
It was the creamy egg,
It was gooey sticky…
And it tasted pretty good.
But the little human beings were so fascinated that they put cones, around it!
Then they heard the children thumping down the stairs.
They just stood still with the chocolate egg.
The children saw the little human beings and that was NOT pretty!
Then the little human beings never messed with human beings that were bigger than them.

Laura's Week #36 100wc

The tiny people

The day after easter I was starving and found a cream egg. I took a bite of the creamy goodness and I was about to bring it into my room to eat but just then remembered that I wasn’t allowed to eat in my room! I went into my room to grab my computer to relax in the kitchen but when I came back I found tiny people! There was an entire town of them! Right next to the cream egg there were two tiny men that looked like construction workers. There was also one on top of the cream egg inspecting the cream. Suddenly, they took the cream egg away! I asked one of the tiny people where they were carrying it to? She said ”We are bringing it to all of the poor people of our land and thank you for the giant cream egg giant." I felt like a hero. “It’s hard to imagine that all of this happened because of one cream egg.” I said to myself. Do you agree?

Juliet's 100wc Week #36

The miniature land

The people stood at the pool of cream egg that was landing on the ground. Children were yanked back from the confectionery trying to eat it. The workers placed cones around the egg, but even so, people were using it as a slide and landing in the sticky mess. The chocolate started to melt and plopped everywhere. The worker had to bring in a car repair truck to take the mess away! ‘‘Where did it come from?’’ ‘‘Why is it here?’’ Were the puzzled cries coming from the gathering crowd.
‘‘ Mummy what is it?’’Asked a small boy standing with his mother.  The crowd laughed.
‘‘Its an easter egg you stink brain!’’said his older sister Katie. ‘‘ It’s a Cadbury Cream egg!!’’
‘‘That's enough Laura.’’ said her mother, in her sternest voice. ‘‘Lets leave.’’
‘‘ Great!’’ yelled Laura. ‘‘Let's get out of here!’’

And away they scrambled back to their home.

Mia's double 100wc Week #35

To Andrew,

You must be really proud of yourself helping people in the dark and staying up all night so people can contact you when they need help! People must love you for what you do. Do you have help? I would be really proud of you if you helped my mum and me. I would say thank you and I would give you a big hug. I wish I could help you too. Do you like doing that job and do you actually stay up all night? Don’t you miss your family because I would. And how do people contact you without phones?

From Mia

In the dark silence you wake up hearing people on the stretcher crying for help saying Andrew Andrew quick the babies here. You get up to grab the door but you stumble down. You get up thinking I will not give up. You get up again and look for the door handle in the dark room. You open the door and see them and say I can’t see what I'm doing. You look for the light switch you turn the solar power light on and you look what’s wrong. You say there were all good and you help the lady and then you give the baby to the mum.

Alice's 100wc Week #35

Dear Andrew,

Wow, how amazing. Are you scared when there is a matter of life and death? You are such a life saver! Where did you study? Do you ever miss your family? What country did you grow up in? I bet if my older sister saw this she would be so inspired because she wants to be a doctor. Even though I don’t want to be a doctor it still inspires me!  How are you able to work without a light or some of the vital equipment? I love watching your video.

Kate's double 100wc Week #35

Dear Andrew,
Are you sometimes scared when you are in the dark?  Do you like it when you're rushed? Do you like what you're doing? How old were you when you got started doing your job that you are doing now? Do you like the dark? How did you get inspired to be a lifesaver? Do you like being a lifesaver? I am pleased that you are here to help us that are in need. You are a confident and a humongous risk- taker of a person and we are lucky to have you in our world no matter what you do.

From Kate.

Imagine you can’t see, but you need light now you say it's going to be all right but it's not, you keep on saying you're going to be all right... You rush to the hospital, you go in and share something's wrong. You try as hard as you can without any tools. You try and try but you realise that they only have 2 seconds to live with their baby and then it turned to be 1 second to live. And by the time you know it you have saved both of their lives and they name the baby Andrew.

Juliet's 100wc Week #35

Dear Andrew,

Do you find it hard to get up out of bed in the middle of the night? I would!  Do you like helping people and saving lives? Does your family ever see you? Do they mind that you do not live at home? How do you get to where the problem is? By bike? By car? By walking? Do many people help support you with the work you do? Do they donate things like solar lights and equipment? Why have you decided to do this with your life? Because you wanted to help? 😀 How often do you have to help people?

Mollie's 100wc Week #35

Dear Andrew,

What is it like having to get up in the middle of the night and having to operate in the dark when you don’t even have enough tools to help the mother? Is it stressful having a mother and a baby that lives are in danger counting on you to save their lives? What is it like working in the dark? What do you tell the mother? How bad would you feel if a mother and baby dies while you’re trying to operate? Has anyone ever died while you are trying to help them? What is the average amount of sleep you get every night?

100wc Week #34

…the water just kept gushing out…

I was five. I was with my friend Audrey at her house in her outdoor blow up pool and we were playing Marco Polo when suddenly"Pop!". A big hole appeared in the side of the pool and the water just kept gushing out it like a volcano erupting with hot steaming lava. Suddenly a big wave of water somehow blocked up the hole and melted the plastic back into its shape like magic. We were too scared to get back into the pool so we ran inside the house to tell Audrey's mum but she wasn't there and... neither was the house… What happened?…

To be continued..
